Les chaussettes Hafer se tricotent du haut (mollet) vers le bas (orteils) en rond avec la technique du magic loop, mais peuvent aussi se tricoter avec un jeu d’aiguilles doubles pointes. Elles démarrent par des côtes rayées et se poursuivent avec un point de broderie anglaise raffiné et un talon renforcé. Le dessous du pied se tricote en jersey tandis que le point de broderie anglaise se poursuit sur le dessus du pied, et la pointe se tricote en coloris contrastant si on le souhaite. Le point de broderie anglaise est facile à réaliser et une vidéo est disponible pour l’apprendre.

Hafer socks are cuff-down socks, worked in the round using the magic loop technique, but can also be knitted with a set of double-pointed needles. They start with striped ribbing and continue with a delicate embroidery stitch and a stronger heel flap. The sole is worked in stockinette stitch while the embroidery stitch continues instep and the toe is knitted in contrasting colors if desired.
