Haihu
If you have been struggling to find interesting sock patterns for large feet, Haihu is here to help you out: there are three sizes from women’s M to men’s L. The stitch pattern in Haihu socks is fun and slightly addictive for the knitter, and the heel might give you a chance to learn a something new.
However, the pattern is not particularly difficult, and once you get started, you can just keep on knitting without having to look at the pattern all the time.
The sample is worked in Vuonue Pentti, which is a wool sock yarn, reinforced by wood-based tencel. You can knit the socks in any DK weight sock yarn.
Haihu socks are worked from the cuff down and the heel is a version the French heel. There’s a wedge toe and the last stitches are grafted together using Kitchener’s Stitch.
The pattern was first published in Käsityön ABC 18 Sukat - magazine in Finnish, but it is now available as a single pattern in English and in Finnish.
