This is a simple openwork knitted bun cover or snood. It’s knit around an elastic hair band to make it easier to put on and stay. The pattern does not have the two lines of knit stitches right next to each other like the picture above has. It’s been fixed so it repeats evenly. But I couldn’t get a better picture!

The pattern is for one size that ends up about 4 inches across when laid flat. It could be made bigger or smaller by knitting more or fewer pattern repeats.

It’s made to cover a bun but will not hold the hair in place without a hair donut or bun shaper or something else used to already make the bun.

Stretchy wool works very well but so do less stretchy worsted weight yarns. This should use way less than a skein of yarn.
