Use the cabled Haka hat chart to make this matching cabled cowl, in super bulky yarn for super warmth! The cabled cowl pattern is bundled together with the basic Haka hat pattern and the cabled Haka hat in the Haka pdf.

Knit up the extra cozy cowl in super bulky weight yarn, or hold three strands of worsted weight together (note that yardage estimates are for bulky; if using worsted you’ll need three times as much yardage).

The small size will be more fitted to the neck so it will stay up more; the large size (as shown in the sample) is too big to really stay up on its own, so it can be folded over or bundled more around the neck. Both sizes are the same tall height, but can easily be modified to be shorter by working one fewer pattern repeat.

The cable pattern is just charted (not written out); the pattern pdf includes a photo tutorial for cabling without a cable needle.

(The original basic Haka hat pattern was first released in 2008; the pattern was completely updated and the new cabled hat & cowl were added to the new version in 2013.)
