Halcyon Lace sweater
Step-by-step video tutorial.
I was in search of a summer sweater, but the patterns I found were too complicated. In need of an elegant yet simple solution, I created a loose-fit silhouette using a basic lace knit stitch and medium-weight yarn.
I named it Halcyon, which means a happy time in the past. This name perfectly captures the joy I felt while knitting this sweater. And now, I want to share this delightful feeling with you!
♥ SKILL LEVEL: Designed for advanced beginners who have already completed a few knitted garments, such as sweaters, and are ready to challenge themselves with lace knitting.
Knitting pattern provides Step-by-step instructions and a full video tutorial to guide you through creating a lace sweater with confidence.
♥ LANGUAGE: English (use ChatGPT to translate it into your native language).
♥ METHOD: Crafted for simplicity and style, the sweater is knitted flat in four separate pieces, with the back and front worked bottom-up and the sleeves top-down. The pieces are then sewn together.
♥ STITCHES: you will meet the following techniques: cast on, knit, purl, purl 2 together, yarn over, cast off.
♥ CUSTOMIZE Your Sweater: choose your preferred length, sleeve style, neckline, and fit options. Watch photos for inspiration.
♥ 7 SIZES: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL. Check out the chart on the photo to help you decide which size to choose.
This sweater is designed with a lot of positive ease, so you’ll get a relaxed and comfy fit. If you prefer a more fitted look, you can choose to knit a size or two smaller.
Model is wearing a size S and, 168 cm (5’6’’) tall with a 89 cm/ 35” bust circumference.
♥ YARN - Explore your creativity by choosing from a variety of natural yarns. Opt for 100% cotton yarn or explore alternative options easily found at your local yarn store.
I used Drops “Paris” yarn (100% cotton, 50 g/75 m (1.8 oz/82 yards), color #17 Off White) for this project. You will need 8, 9, 10, 11 - 50 grams/1.8 oz skeins for your size.
Also you can try mercerised* cotton by Lion Brand “24/7 Cotton” (100g/170m or 3.5 oz/186 yards ). You will need 4, 5, 5, 6 - 100 grams (3.5 oz) skeins for your size.
♥ NEEDLES - Circular needles 6 mm (US 10) and approx 60 cm/24 inches total length.
♥ CROCHET HOOK - 3-5 mm/ D-H (optional).
♥ GAUGE is not particularly critical for this pattern, if you use 6 mm (US 10) needles and recommended yarn. But nevertheless, it is 12 stitches x 20 rows in a 10 cm (4 in) piece in Lace stitch.
Create your own lace knit sweater and get compliments how talented you are!
