Half-Hour Hat
Pattern Description
Dana is a new knitter. She’d made several scarves for herself and friends and now wanted to make a hat. “I don’t know if I can do it,” Dana said nervously. But we assured her that this was a very, very easy hat. All she really had to do was knit, just like with her scarves. We helped Dana cast her stitches onto a circular needle, made sure they weren’t twisted, quickly explained the concept of knitting two stitches together, and then sent her on her way. Not more than a half hour later, Dana walked back into the store. We assumed that she’d dropped a stitch or made a mistake of some sort. But instead of asking for help she proudly showed us her finished product.
