This is an easy, beginners level shawl. It can also act as a blank canvas to show off a special skein of hand dyed or hand spun yarn.

You start with 3 stitches and keep increasing. It can be as small or large as the ambition, attention span, or ball of yarn.
Will it be a teddy bear scarf, a child size neckerchief, a large shawl?

There is a large increase in stitches just before the cast off, this is to help avoid a tight cast off edge for those learning to knit.

Yarn: Delicious 4 ply 10 x 20g skeins. 200 g total.
Needles: 3.75 mm 100 cm circular to accommodate the large number of stitches towards the end.

This is quite a large needle size to give the garter stitch room to stretch and be lovely and squishy when knitted a bit more loosely.

The hand dyed yarn I have used is available in my Etsy shop in two colourways.
