Half Timbered Wrap
I have always been a fan of half-timbered houses. The mixture of visible wooden beams and brick/stucco on the facade of these structures will forever feel like home - a part of Bavaria, Germany, called Franconia - to me. Some plain, some intricate, all enduring, and a testament of craftsmanship. There’s nothing quite like building something with your own two hands, is there?
My half timbered series of knitting patterns is a tribute to this style of architecture and offers the essence of it in knitting patterns - both plain and intricate, and a chance to practice your craft to end up with a knitted item that you’ll be able to enjoy for a long time.
Construction
The Half Timbered Wrap is knit with worsted weight yarn beginning from one end to the middle. The stitches are placed on hold, then the other half is knit to the middle, and the two halves are grafted together.
