Hallgrímur is a simple knit beanie/lumberjack hat in a traditional style, with a twist at the end. It knits up quickly for an excellent baby gift, and the clean simple lines make it ideal for menswear, too.

Hallgrímur can be worked up in under 150 yards of worsted/aran, dk, or sock/fingering weight yarn, in sizes from baby to adult, and gauge varies along with size. You can use this pattern to knit for nearly anyone, using nearly any yarn from sock to worsted - so it’s a great stashbuster, or a good pattern for a special skein of yarn.
