Hallingdal Fingerless Gloves
The gloves are knitted bottom up in the round in one colour, and the motif is then embroidered using satin stitch and stem stitch. The motif is transferred to glove by first tracing onto water soluble transfering paper. The motif itself is inspired by the Norwegian national costume from the area of Hallingdal, and the gloves were commissioned especially for the Netflix series “A Storm for Christmas”.
Finished measurements: Total length: 20 cm (7.9”), includes 7 cm (2 3/4 “). Hand circumference: 21 cm (8.2”).
Materials:
You will need approx. 45 grams (~160 metres) of Rauma Finull (175 m per 50 grams) for the gloves, and a few grams of 5 colours Drops Nord (wool/alpaca blend, 175 m per 50 grams). Alternatives to Rauma Finull are 2-tr Ull (Järbo garn) or Pernilla (Filcolana).
Dpns 2.5 mm
You will also need a water soluble transfering paper (I use Gütermann Sulky Solvy), needle, pins, and scrap yarn for holding stitches.
Skills required:
