⚠ Please note: This listing is for a digital crochet pattern download only, not a physical toy. It is written in English only, using US terminology. If you would prefer UK terminology, please let me know and I can provide this. The pattern will be available to download immediately after purchase. It has been independently tested, and contains detailed instructions with high quality photos. ⚠

ABOUT THE PATTERN

The pattern begins at the top of the head and works down, incorporating the feet as you crochet. Some sewing is required to attach the eyes, ears, nose, and wings. I’ve included options for both safety eyes and crocheted eyes. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, Eggy Bat reaches a height of approximately 11cm. I’d love to see your completed projects; feel free to share them by tagging me on Instagram @dreamweave.creations or visiting my Facebook page, DreamWeave Creations.

SKILL LEVEL

I have assigned an intermediate skill level to this pattern. It involves some assembly, such as sewing components together, and incorporates a few less common stitches and techniques for the ears and wings. Additionally, there are a few colour changes to create the belly. You should be comfortable with reading patterns and familiar with abbreviations and crochet terminology.

MATERIALS NEEDED

Chosen yarn in desired colours. The following yarns in DK weight have been used in the pattern:

  • Purple for skin colour
  • Lilac for accents
  • Peach for feet, inner ears and nose
  • Small amount of white for eye whites
  • If you are opting for crocheted pupils, you will also need a tiny amount of black and white. I used a thinner yarn for this (5 ply / sport weight) along with a slightly smaller hook. You can use the same weight yarn but they will turn out slightly larger than in the photographs.

Tiny amount of black yarn or embroidery thread for embroidering nostrils - I used 6 strands of embroidery thread
12mm safety eyes (optional)
Toy stuffing
2.5mm crochet hook
Scissors
Pins
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle

Feel free to explore variations by swapping out yarn and hook sizes to achieve a different outcome, and get creative with experimenting with various colours.
