This is a great easy project for last minute Halloween or fall decorations or a hostess gift. Any yarn and weight can be used to play around with texture and size. Both the ghost pumpkins and decorative pumpkins are knitted in worsted yarn on needle 3.5mm (US#4) on double pointed needles to ensure a tight knit so the filling doesn’t show. I use polyester filling for my knitted object for easy shaping and caring but wool, cotton or scraps of yarn can also be used. A darning needle to sew in the loose tails and old forgotten bottons are used as eyes but adjust the suggested knitting needle a couple of sizes down.
