Hambea the beagle dog
With this very detailed pattern, you can make a super-realistic and playful beagle in a day. This .pdf crochet pattern is written in standard American crochet terms.
Size
If you use the recommended yarn, your dog will be 5.1 inch /13 cm high.
Materials
For this crochet dog you’ll need worsted weight Lètt Lopi yarn and for the brown parts I held two strands of Einband Lopi together because I found that colour more suitable for a beagle, but you can also use Lètt Lopi’s brown. You need an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You’ll need three colours: white (Lètt Lopi 0051), black heather (Lètt Lopi 0005) and almond (Einband Lopi 9076) or acorn heather (Lètt Lopi 0053). You also need a little bit of any colour you like for the harness, I’ve used fjord blue (1701). For the eyes I’ve used 8 mm animal eyes. You will also need fibrefill and pellets for extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads). A pipe-cleaner to make the tail bendable is optional.
The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal, with instruction images next to the text and example pictures at the bottom to help you get everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by experienced crocheters before publishing.
Yarn
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.
Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
