It was a snowy winter’s day in 2022. The kids were ‘bored’ and full of energy. I showed the kids my yarn colors available. They each picked their favorite colors and stripe patterns. A few days later, they each grabbed their new hat and off to explore the nearby woods they ran. What you see in the photos is the result.

The pattern instructions include I-Cord instructions as well as the basic crown. You will need two circular needles when your stitches start to stretch too tight around while working the crown. Magic loop and DPNs work as well.

Getting gauge and sticking with the numbers you can create many different hats. Add 10 colors if you like. It’s all in the design. Let the kids explore! They will love it. After all, they had the idea for the stripe.
