“Hamish”

The pattern contains instructions for creating it in a chunky weight yarn in two sizes.

It’s a perfect beginner pattern using knit and purl stitches.

The green version is unisex in its sizing and the variegated is smaller. The larger version maybe worn more over the edge of the shoulder on a woman and could also be pulled up as a short hood.

I created the Rennish cowl first and was asked to create a cowl suitable for a man, so using the similar stitches this one has been created. Tying it by name to the outlander story I have chosen Hamish from the scene of Claire drinking a little too much Rennish and making a mistake of identity towards the Lairds son Hamish!
It’s a style that’s perfect for any Outlander or fan of Scotland, wanting to create a piece that holds memories of a remarkable location in the Scottish Highlands.
It’s been inspired by my love of Outlander, the Scottish Highlands and historical clothing and textiles.
