Hamish the Highland Cow (Coo)
When made using the same yarn and hook size as me, Hamish will be approximately 17inches from tip of horn to toe.
This pattern is written using UK terminology.
Stitches used;
Ch – Chain
Mr – Magic Ring
St - Stitch
Dc – Double crochet
Inc – increase (two dc in one st)
Dec – decrease (dc two stitches together)
BLO – Back loop only
Sl st – Slip stitch
FO – finish off
For this pattern I have used;
TB Ramsdens Wendy with wool Aran for the main colour in shade 5504
Stylecraft Special Double Knit for the nose in shade 1863
So Crafty Beige Aran for the Horns and Hooves
For the hair, any yarn can be used of any weight.
15mm Safety eyes – (You can embroider the eyes on if preferred)
Stuffing (Fiberfil)
Hooks – 4mm for working with the Aran and 3mm for working with the DK
Needle
Doll Needle (Can be done without but so much easier with.)
Ribbon to tie a bow around his neck (optional)
Scissors
Stitch Markers
Slicker Brush (optional, if you do want to create the “furry” look, a small slicker brush can be purchased on Amazon for around £3)
