Ready for a walk in the woods or a jaunt around town? Hamlin has you covered. This style can go anywhere with you. Choose a size that gives you either a snug fit or some slouch. Wear it with the ribbing cuffed to the outside or the inside, or wear it uncuffed for an entirely different look. Hamlin is all about options! Make it in two colors that pop if you want to get noticed. Pair some neutrals or more subtle shades if that’s more your style. This might become your favorite pattern for making a special hat for anyone in your life.

The slipped stitch pattern is fun to work and uses only one color at a time per round. It makes a double thick fabric with colorwork that’s identical on both sides - bonus reversibility! There’s a tubular cast on that makes the ribbing edge so nice looking and stretchy.

Hamlin was inspired by our family life here in Michigan - everyone needs an easy going light weight beanie or slouch to wear while hiking the trails or walking around downtown. It’s a unisex style that works for each of my kids, me and my husband. And the color combo options are unlimited, so everyone gets to choose just what they would want! It’s named for Hamlin Lake up north where we like to vacation with extended family. My nieces and nephews were great volunteer models for this pattern, and we grabbed the pics in the woods by the lake this summer!
