Hello! I loved our “potato axolotl” so much, that I made some more potato pets. First up the cute little potato hamster!!! Isn’t he fun! I only made the small hamster toy version (if you fill the bottom with rice, it is a bit like a squishy/ sensory toy too). But as with the potato axolotl, I reckon that if you use super chunky cozy yarn, it would make a fantastic plushie too!

The stitches for the basic potato pet shape are really basic, magic circle and single crochet. The only “new” stitch is the mini bobble stitch, but I have added a descrition of how to make it, but also a short video (45sec) to teach people how to make this. It makes the most adorable paws! Super cute.

I used a 2mm hook for this squishy (7.5cm high) and my crochet is quite tight/ small. So yours is likely to turn out a little bigger? I also used 6mm safety eyes.
