Hanakotoba is the Japanese language of flowers. I kept looking at the shawl and thinking “flower shawl” but that seemed too boring. Since the shawl was designed with a Japanese lace pattern, it seemed fitting to give it a Japanese name - that essentially means flower shawl.

The shawl is about 68 inches by 22 inches when blocked, and the instructions are written for the initial shaping and charted for the lace bits.
