Hanami Stole
“Hanami is the Japanese word used for traditional cherry blossom viewing activities and it is the combination of this tradition and the gesture of friendship that inspired the design of the Hanami stole.”
This stole is asymmetrical.
One side has a beaded cast on and a basketweave lace pattern inspired by a traditional Sashiko, or Japanese quilting design.
The second half of the stole is dedicated to cherry blossoms blowing in the wind. This end is finished with a simple ruffle.
The pattern also includes directions for working the stole either entirely in the basketweave pattern, or entirely in the cherry blossom pattern.
The supply list calls for 44 size 8 seed beads, but it should call for 47 beads. I apologize for any inconvenience this caused anyone.
