This pattern is for the mouse, its handy mouse outfit, step, tools and painting accessories as well as the opening paint tin to store everything in!

Please be aware that this is a fairly time-consuming project! The pattern contains lots of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication.

You will need:
Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used King Cole Cherished DK (equivalent to weight 3 / light worsted weight) and my finished mouse measures approximately 10cm tall. My finished paint tin measures 17cm tall (not including the handle) and 15cm in diameter. Please ensure that you use the same weight yarn throughout your project.

For the mouse, clothing & tools / accessories (pages 4 - 19), you will need the following colours:

  • Main mouse colour - I used pale grey or cream (approx. 23.5m per mouse).
  • Nose / ears / feet / tail colour - I used pale pink (approx. 13m per mouse).
  • T-shirt colour - I used blue (shade ’sky’) (approx. 8.5m per outfit).
  • Overalls / mug colour - I used white (approx. 16.5m per outfit).
  • Mini paint tin colour - I used grey (shade ’nickel’) (approx. 3.5m).
  • Mini paint / steps / paint roller colour - I used pink (shade ’pink’ (approx. 32m).
  • Broom / step / roller & mallet handle colour- I used light brown (shade ’pebble’ (approx. 40m).
  • Saw / paint tray / mallet head colour - I used dark grey (shade ’grey’ (approx. 15.5m).
  • Cheese colour - I used yellow (shade ’sunshine’ (approx. 2m).

For the paint tin (pages 20 - 30), you will need the following colours:

  • Tin Colour - I used grey (shade ‘nickel’) (approx. 242m).
  • Brand Label Background Colour - I used dark grey (shade ’grey’) (approx. 17.5m).
  • Paint Colour - I used cream or light blue (shades ‘cream’ or ‘sea breeze’) (approx. 161m).
  • Brand Name Colour - I used yellow (shade ’sunshine’) (approx. 4m).
  • Paint Label Colour - I used white (approx. 30m).
  • Tools Sign Colour - I used light brown (shade ‘pebble’) (approx. 3m).

Please Note - The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice.

You will also need:

  • A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.
  • A pair of 6mm black safety eyes per mouse.
  • Some toy stuffing.
  • Small amounts of black finer yarn or thread for adding the details to the mouse’s face (optional).
  • ‘7 count’ plastic canvas. I had a 26cm x 33cm sheet (that’s 10.25 x 13.5 inches) & I used 2 sheets. A higher count (that’s the number of holes per inch) will mean the plastic is more bendy so stick to 7 count if possible. If your plastic feels very bendy, you may wish to insert multiple layers of plastic. A button for fastening the door of the tin closed (this is optional). The button I used was 2cm in diameter.
  • Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and some stitch markers.

You are welcome to sell the items that you make using this pattern, but please do not sell / share the pattern itself.
