Hanging Bats
Whether they’re sitting upright or hanging upside down, these little bats are just adorable! They’re just 4 inches long from the tip of their ears to the bottom of their feet, a perfect size for little hands.
Materials
Worsted Weight Yarn
6mm safety eyes
Embroidery Floss
Fiberfill
Tapestry needle, skewers for stuffing, straight pins, scissors
Chopstick, thin dowel or twig for the bat to hang from
Size
Gauge is not important to this pattern. The size of your finished products will vary depending on the size yarn and hooks you use. Made with the materials listed, the bat’s body measures about 3” and he’s about 4” from the tips of his ears to his toes).
• Using a thinner yarn and smaller hooks will yield smaller items. Using thicker yarn and larger hooks will result in larger items. An individual crocheter’s yarn tension can also be a factor in sizing as well.
Pattern Notes
The pattern is written for advanced beginner crocheters and beyond (mainly because of the type of terminology used. The advanced beginner crocheter is familiar with making amigurumi and understands basic amigurumi crochet terminology and stitches as well as how to sew pieces together, finish off, hide ends, etc. If you are not familiar with all the terms used in this pattern, there are a multitude of tutorials on You Tube that can help. Also feel free to contact me with any questions. I’ll be glad to help in any way I can.
