This pattern gives you two options for how your hanging Blossom will look. She can be facing downwards for a soft toy or looking upwards for the dangly car ornament.

For Blossom the Dangly Opossum I used Hobbycraft Soft and Silky 4 ply. Approximately 10g of cream, 15g of silver, 20g of slate, 3g of black, 5g of pink and a scrap of white. This made a 6” (not including the tail) opossum.
You can use 8ply/double knit/light worsted weight yarn if you fancy, she will just be bigger. You can obviously use any colours or brand you fancy but the results will be different. You can make this in most yarn, but please use the smallest hook you can manage. Again the size and appearance of the end result will differ. Mercerised cotton yarn prevents too much stretch so helps to reduce the visibility of the stuffing through the holes, plus it isn’t fluffy so the pattern of the African Flower shape shows more clearly.
I recommend Scheepjes Catona if you’re unable to get the Hobbycraft yarn.
I used a 2.5mm crochet hook for the body shapes to keep the tension tight and a 3mm hook for the legs and tail with two strands of yarn to make them stiffer. If you can use a 2mm hook even better.
Scissors, dressmakers pins, darning needle, stitch markers, 9mm beads or safety eyes and stuffing.
