Hanging Oval Basket
For me, using baskets solves a lot of organizing problems. For example, we have that tiny room in our bathroom that houses just the toilet. I could do the typical “store extra TP on top of the tank” thing or buy one of those contraptions that allows you to stack several rolls on a “decorative” pole. But that’s not how I roll. (See what I did there?) I was walking through IKEA with my future son-in-law and he pointed out a hanging oval basket in a bathroom display that looked like it had been crocheted. The way it was designed with just one handle allowed it to hang on a doorknob…and it was big enough for a roll of TP. “I can do that!” I said. Thus was born the Color Block Oval Hanging Basket.
But make no mistake…this hanging basket can do so much more than hold a roll of toilet paper. It can hold small toys, small plants, and so much more. Mix up the colors to coordinate with any room – go simple with one color or go wild with 20!
Whichever way you go, this little basket will work hard for you AND look pretty doing it.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! As with all of my patterns, instructions for variations on this basket are included with the pattern!
LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY: EASY
The basic pattern is simple and uses the chain and half-double crochet stitches to make the body of the basket. You can stop there or add a decorative edge with the Crab Stitch (which is a variation on the Single Crochet.)
