An extra cozy toque that is as comfy to hold as it is to wear. This hat features a double brim that will keep your ears and the rest of your head extremely warm. This hat is knit bottom up in half fisherman’s rib. The stitch pattern is a great alternative if you’d like the look of brioche but not the complexity that is required to make it. I fell in love with the simplicity of half-fisherman’s rib and the ultimate squish factor it creates.
Half-Fisherman’s Rib has a lovely look from either side of the stitch pattern. With this pattern there are no right or wrong sides and you have 2 different options on how you’d like to wear this hat.

Sizes: baby, toddler (child/adult S, adult M, adult L)

Finished Head Circumferences: 11.25, 12.75 (16, 17, 17.5)” / 28, 32 (40.5, 43, 45) cm designed to roughly fit a 16, 18 (20, 22, 23)” / 41, 46 (51, 56, 58.5) cm head.

Intended Ease: around 4-5” / 10-12.5 cm of negative ease

Yardage: Total yardage: 130, 160 (220, 235, 250) yds / 120, 150 (200, 215, 230) m

Suggested Yarn: Sunday Fibre Company Nostalgia Worsted 100g (3.6 oz) / 218 yds (200 m) Colourway: Unicorn
Any heavy DK/ worsted weight yarn will work, but be sure to obtain gauge and adjust needle size accordingly.

Needles: US6 / 4.0mm circular needles on 16” / 40 cm length cords or 4.0 mm DPNs, or size to obtain gauge. If not using DPNs, magic loop on 32”-40” cords may be necessary for the smallest size as well as the crown section for the rest of the sizes.

Notions: tapestry needle, stitch markers (1 BOR stitch marker and 3 regular stitch markers)

Gauge: 17 sts x 42 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Half-Fisherman’s rib on US6 / 4.0 mm needles, worked in the round and measured AFTER blocking
