Hannah The Horse or Unicorn is a beautiful pattern that can be made into a classic horse or a unicorn. She also comes with a pattern for a saddle, stirrups, bridle, and reins! I used self striping yarn, but you can choose any colour you like - brown, white, fawn, black, or multi-coloured! Hannah is 27cm or 10.5 inches long. She is 23cm or 9 inches tall.

This knitting pattern is 11 pages long and full of detailed pictures to help you along the way.

Would you like to make a little horse rider for Hannah? The teddy bear shown in the pictures is a separate pattern called “Tessa The Teddy With Play Outfit.” You can buy her pattern here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tessa-teddy-with-...

Materials Needed: 3.5mm or 3US or 10UK knitting needles, 2 x 3.5mm or 3US or 10UK double pointed knitting needles, 2.5mm or 12 UK crochet hook, 75g Elle Fairy’s Delight Double Knit Yarn in colour Laila (this is a self striping yarn), small amount of beige double knit yarn, stuffing,12mm silver safety eyes, small piece of black felt, 1 set of fake eyelashes, clear adhesive, 250cm or 100 inches of 0.8mm wire, fabric plaster or electrical tape, pliers, and tweezers

Yarn Substitutions: It is often difficult to get the exact same yarn as stated in a pattern. You can substitute any listed yarn with another yarn of the same weight to achieve a similar look and size. The yarn weight used in this pattern is double knit which is also known as light worsted or 8 ply. You can also make a bigger or smaller version by using thicker yarn and bigger needles, or thinner yarn and smaller needles.

Gauge: Gauge is not important in this pattern. Just make sure that your knitted fabric is tight enough so that the stuffing doesn’t show through.

Knitting Methods Used: Cast on using the thumb method, knit, purl, M1R - Make 1 Right (Make 1 stitch by picking up the bar in between two stitches from back to front and knitting into the front of it - increases by 1 stitch), M1L - Make 1 Left (Make 1 stitch by picking up the bar in between two stitches from front to back and knitting into the back of it - increases by 1 stitch), SKPO- Slip one stitch knit wise, knit one stitch, pull the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (decreases by 1 stitch), K2tog - Knit 2 stitches together as 1 (decreases by 1 stitch), P2tog - Purl 2 stitches together as 1 (decreases by 1 stitch), Cast off - Cast off by knitting or purling two stitches then slipping the bottom stitch over the top one, I-cord - knit a cord using 2 double pointed needles, sew the pieces together using mattress stitch.

Crochet is used to edge the saddle and make the stirrups, bridle, and reins.

Crochet Methods Used: Chain, Sc - single crochet, Cast off.
