Haori with Crests
by Vicki Square
Summary: “A wafuku jacket, or haori, is a shorter version of kimono that originated for males. The most formal of this type of kimono is the unpatterned monochrome kimono (iri muji) with one, three, or five crests. The Japanese crest (mon) is a stylized motif, usually defined by a circle, that combines messages of heraldry, logo and sheer design.” - from Knit Kimono
Yarn Used in Project The book’s sample was knit using Plymouth Royal Bamboo, 26 balls of #58 dark plum (MC) and 1 ball of #02 light ochre (CC).
