This colourful warm and lightweight shawl is based on the style of traditional Shetland Hap shawls. The shawl is worked on larger needles in double knitting yarn and styled using four colours with a lace pattern which echoes the waves of the sea. The result will be something to be treasured for many years.

The pattern provides full written instructions and the border lace pattern is also charted.

New Lanark DK
Main colour (MC): 4x 50g (480m/528yds)
Contrast 1 (CC1): 5x 50g (600m/660yds)
Contrast 2 (CC2): 1x 50g (120m/132yds)
Contrast 3 (CC3): 1x 50g (120m/132yds)
5.0mm short circular or straight needles (centre)
5.5mm long 125cm/50inch circular (borders)
stitch markers (4 reqd for corners, 1 distinct for round marker)
blunt needle

Tension:
As knitted (before dressing):
5.0mm 17sts & 30 rows to 10cm over garter stitch
5.5mm 18sts & 24 rows to 10cm over old shell pattern

Measurements:
After dressing: Approx 137cms / 54 inches square
