“Happy Birthday”

This is a pattern for a slouch beanie style hat that is worked flat and seamed to avoid working in the round on circular needles.

The stitches create a textured finish to the hat and the pom pom is optional to the finish.

It’s a unisex design and the finished sizing is suitable for a head circumference of approx. 22 to 24cm.

A beginner that can knit and purl along with decreasing stitches could create this design.

I have chosen to use a solid colour to define the stitches in the photographs but the pattern would look fantastic in a variegated yarn also.

The pattern is written row by row with no charts and the finished hat requires no blocking of the stitches.
The finished dimensions are approx. 26cm long without the pom pom by approx. 54cm circumference of the bottom edge.
