These sweet little fingerless mitts/half mittens feature a smiling cat motif on the front, and a plain 1x1 salt-and-pepper colourwork on the palm.

Sizes: Adult S (approx. 7” hand circumference measured above thumb); Adult M (approx. 8” hand circumference measured above thumb); Adult L (approx. 9” hand circumference measured above thumb)

Additional sizes can be made by adjusting yarn weight and/or needle size.

Yarn: Briggs & Little Regal (or any worsted weight yarn). Approx. 40g MC (main colour) and 20g CC (contrast colour). In the sample pictured, I have used Midnight Blue as the MC and Natural as the CC.

Gauge: For Adult S: 26 sts x 28 rnds = 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking; For Adult M: 24 sts x 26 rnds = 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking; For Adult L: 22 sts x 24 rnds = 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking

Recommended needle size:
Adult S: Set of four 3.5mm DPNs (or size needed to obtain gauge)
Adult M: Set of four 4.0mm DPNs (or size needed to obtain gauge)
Adult L: Set of four 4.5mm DPNs (or size needed to obtain gauge)

Notes:

Instructions: Instructions are written specifically for DPNs. This pattern is a combination of written instructions, as well as charted colourwork.

Colourwork: There are areas where it will be necessary to catch your floats. I generally catch floats over areas of more than 4 sts.

Charts: Charts are read starting at the bottom and working from right to left.
