Happy Heart Amigurumi
This cute amigurumi heart can be made in any yarn and results in a cute toy or key chain. It takes very little yarn and can be constructed quickly. Ideal for a last-minute quirky gift for someone!
The pattern includes step-by-step instructions including pictures and tips. As I hate sewing things on, the eyes and arms are integrated into the crochet as the heart is constructed. All you need to do is add a few features (like eyebrows, mouth, nose etc) once it is complete.
If you fancy winning one of my patterns for FREE, join the Craft Pixie Crochet Club on Facebook and check out the featured/pinned post “Hearts on Tour” for details. It’s just a bit of fun and closes at midnight (UK time) on 13th February 2024.
Yarns
I used Rico Creative Cotton Aran with a 4.00 mm hook (1.00 mm smaller than stated on the yarn band) for the majority of my samples. This resulted in a heart around 4” x 4”. I also used Rico Ricorumi Cotton DK and Giza Cottom 4ply so I could show you the difference in size (see photos). So if you want a tiny heart, use 4ply or finer. For a decent sized heart, why not try a chunky or above!
What you will need
- A small amount of the main colour in the yarn you like to work with (I used around 50m of cotton aran).
- A crochet hook 1.00 mm smaller than that stated on the yarn band (to keep the work tight).
- A few metres of black and white for the eyes and features..
- Some stuffing (I used a couple of handfuls).
- Yarn needle and scissors.
- Other optional embellishments (eg key chain etc)
