Happy Mistake Scarf
I was making a scarf for my dad one holiday season, when I realized that one skein was not going to be enough. My local yarn store was out of the color I had started with, so I decided to choose a contrasting color and switch up the stitch for the second half to make it look like I meant to. The result was a fun but classy, luxurious scarf that was so well received I decided to make another one for my mom’s husband. And then, of course, my husband needed one, too.
I chose to go with a neutral and a pop of color, but this could easily be adapted to represent your favorite team’s colors for those chilly fall and winter games.
This is a great beginner scarf. All you need to know is a basic cast-on and bind-off, knitting and purling. It’s big yarn and needles, so it goes quickly and doesn’t take a ton of mental effort.
Big thanks to my test knitters!
