About
These mitts came about in an effort to cheer myself about three miscarriages and a lot of struggle with infertility. They are my happiness mitts, and they have brought a lot of sunshine to my hands and my life.
I used a 3.5mm knitting needle and sport weight yarn. (I realize the yarn I used says it is not sport weight. It is.) My gauge when knitting the colorwork portion in the round was 7 sts by 7.5 sts an inch. My gloves measured (laying flat) 3.75 inches across the wrist (for colorwork portion) by 10 inches from tip to cuff. I have a 6 inch wrist. If you meet gauge these gloves will fit from a 6-7 inch wrist. Go up or down a needle size to change gauge and fit different hands.
There is a video tutorial that shows complicated steps on my YouTube channel. You will have access with purchase.
You will need:
- 300 yards of sport weight yarn (in two colors)
- Size 3.5mm double pointed knitting needles or magic loop needle.
- Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
- A hand to put the finished item on.
