Yarn Quantity: This project uses approximately ONE skein (at 355 yards per skein) TOTAL.

This is a Scrapbuster design: random bits of yarn collected over the last few weeks, rolled into a ball and used “as is”. I do not make matching booties, as I hate searching. No two are alike, and I have the joy of admiring the many different color combinations that result.

Special Note:
With the exception of the Center Circle and the final tail ends, ALL of the tail ends are worked over in this pattern. (Meaning they are crocheted over instead of being woven in with a needle.) You may opt to weave in all the tail ends if you wish. Always weave in that Center Tail tho…..it’s never a good idea to leave that one to chance.

This is a Confident Beginner skill level design. Knowledge of the basic crochet stitches and techniques is strongly recommended. The Wand Weaver YouTube Channel provides video demonstrations for your assistance.

Pay attention to stitch counts, turning chain does not count unless otherwise stated.

The entire garment is worked from the toe up to the arch, the heel is built off the toe body, joined along the back of the ankle, and the cuff built off the heel, finished up with a funky, yet durable CRAB stitch edging. These are loose fitting booties, very simple to construct with ample room to allow for the wearing of socks as well. Heel is a simple box design. Sizes run LARGE.

Can you slip? Yes. And slide. If this is a concern, you can either use a glue gun and squiggle glue along the bottom, or purchase puff paint specifically suited for the non-slip purpose you require.

For the advanced (or the brave): Adjustments to the size of the bootie can be made at various points in the process and will be marked in the pattern instructions. For instance: need allowance for a higher arch? Thicker ankle? Longer foot? This can be done.
