Happy Warm Socks
This pattern is worked with the actual measurements of your foot rather than a stitch gauge or count. I have big feet, and use a bit less than 400 yards for a pair of socks. It uses a combination of Tunisian crochet and regular crochet to make a sock that is thicker than a knitted sock and stretchier than an all crochet sock. It is worked flat, and there are a couple of seams, but directions are given to make the seam lay flat rather than be lumpy. Fingering weight yarn makes socks, and sport weight (with slightly larger hooks) can be used to make slippers. There are plenty of pictures along with the directions.
Many thanks to Amerz for helping me test and proof read the directions! Any mistakes are all mine, and if you find one (or have a question in general) please feel free to email me so I can fix it.
