Happy Waves
My Happy Waves scarf is made of stash yarn - as I cannot always justify buying new yarn…. The colors are maybe a bit bolder and out of my normal color-zone than I usually work and wear - but as the work grew on the needles I found it more and more appealing.
You can use as many or as few colors as you want (you might even work the scarf using one single color!) -
The pattern is easily adapted for working a narrow or broader scarf - you can use the same pattern for making a whole blanket if you wish to!
The only thing you have to keep in mind is that the main color and contrasting colors should have the same gauge.
The knitting of the scarf was great fun! It is a simple knit suitable for an advanced beginner, but in my opinion interesting enough even for a more experienced knitter. If you are a beginner you might find it helpful to use markers between each pattern-repeat.
There are no difficult stiches. The stiches included in the pattern are k and p stiches, yo and k2tog/k2togtbl. That’s all! The patterning is only in RS rows, WS rows being either k rows or p rows. I give you both row-by-row instructions and charts for the 2 different wave-patterns.
I wish you a Happy Knitting and hope to see lots of Happy Waves- scarfs in the most amazing color-combinations here at Ravelry!
