Note: stitch pattern is very stretchy and accommodating - choose a size a little smaller than you might normally make.
These socks follow an impactful, but easy-to-work, lace pattern that looks particularly nice in not-entirely solid hand-dyed yarns. The instructions here are for working the sock both from the cuff down and the toe up. The direction will affect the appearance of the lace pattern, but you have to look closely to see the difference.
Pattern offers both top-down and toe-up instructions, and is written so that it can be worked on DPNs, magic loop or 2 circulars, as you prefer. Foot and leg length are adjustable to fit.
UPDATE: Looks like there a couple of small mistakes in the pattern as published.
Top Down
1. After the Heel flap setup is complete, the numbers for the Medium size instep are incorrect. It should be 30 sts for that size, NOT 28.
- In the heel flap, Row 4 has “Sl 1” twice, by accident. It should just be ROW 4: Sl 1, p23 (25, 29, 29).
Toe Up
When setting up the pattern on the foot, for the second size, you’re working it over 30 sts, not 24.
