Harlequilt
It’s Advent season and you know what that means….mini skeins galore! Whether you have ordered an advent box this year or you are looking to stash bust with mini skeins or scraps, the Harlequilt can help you out! You only need to know how to knit, increase, and decrease for this pattern. By using diamonds and partial diamonds, you can create a blanket of almost any size!
You will need several full diamonds (determined by how large you want to make your Harlequilt), several short half diamonds to fill in along the top and bottom (once again determined by your desired size), at least two long half diamonds for the sides, and four quarter diamonds for the corners. You will also need extra yarn or a contrast color for an I-cord edge if you desire!
Tips:
I used a US 4 / 3.5mm needle, but choose whatever needle you prefer for knitting fingering weight. Making a fabric you enjoy is more important than hitting a specific gauge for this blanket!
My diamonds measure about 14″ tall by 7″ wide. If you want to make the absolute most of your yarn, weigh your yarn before beginning, work increases until you have a little more than half of your yarn left, and begin the decreases. You’ll have barely any scraps left over!
