Harlequin checkered patterns are a variation of the classic argyle motif. I added vertical lines to create a fun and flattering look that is easy to knit and provides an exciting opportunity to play with color. Separate the bars farther or snug them closer together to customize the size.
These toe-up socks are easy to execute once you master the trick of working my method of intarsia in-the-round (ITR), in which right-side rows are followed by wrong-side rows to give the appearance of knitting in rounds. The small areas of different colors offer an opportunity for creative stash-busting. Change the colors as desired to make the most of your stash!
