Brioche makes for a cushy, squishy hat that will keep your ears toasty in the coldest winds.

Welted stripes add a textural contrast to the deep brioche and break the monotony of the ribbing. The continuation of some of the ribs creates a fun asymmetrical look.

And just like Harold, this hat will become an old friend.

Yarn: Downton Abbey Branson 80% acrylic, 20% wool, 153 yards per 3.5 ounces; Color: Chestnut Brown; 1 skein

Needles: US size 8 (5mm) 16” circular, and a set of US size 8 (5mm) DPNs
