Harriet Cardigan
This classic cardigan is what your wardrobe’s been waiting for. Depending on your color choices, add excitement or go chic. This sweater is worked from the top down with raglan-style seamless sleeves. Extra sturdy, perfectly placed, sizeable pockets are seamlessly set into the garment with short rows to hold any important goodies. You’ll find yourself reaching for this sweater on the regular. Will you keep it in your office for daily wear or at home to grab on a lazy Sunday? This pattern was inspired by the Tot Topper’s design, Henry Cardigan. Harriet also includes a link to a new tutorial from Kate, which gives an overview of the pocket construction and demonstrates the join itself. Click here to view Kate’s Set-in Side Pocket Tutorial.

Sizing: Sweater is shown in Size 2 with approximately 2”/5 cm ease for a fitted but not snug look. You’ll likely want some ease for layering, so choose a size that is larger than your actual chest measurement. For a boyfriend-style fit, choose a size that is 6-8”/15-20.5 cm larger than your actual chest measurement.
Skills needed: Pattern is written for intermediate level knitters comfortable with changing colors for stripes, basic increasing and decreasing, picking up stitches, working easy stranded colorwork (hem and cuffs only), short rows and a provisional cast-on. If desired, the provisional cast-on in this design may be replaced with a standard cast-on. In this case, pick up and knit stitches when the pattern calls for removing the provisional cast-on and knitting those sts. Pattern also includes link to video tutorial demonstrating the seamless pocket join.
