Harriet Tubman
In honor of the famous Underground Railroad conductor and Union spy, Harriet Tubman is ready for the trail with her sturdy overcoat and boots, along with a supply pouch at her side. However, when public speaking is called for, her pouch and coat are removed to reveal a smart two-piece suit in Union blue, accented with a snowy white neck cloth.
Harriet Tubman is knit on size 6 needles. She uses about a skein each of Lion Brand Woolease Blue Heather, and Lion Brand Heartland Olympic, and Bryce Canyon, along with smaller amounts of accent colors. The construction of each piece is largely seamless. Buttons and drawstrings allow you favorite young abolitionist to dress and undress the doll.
Harriet Tubman was designed using an 18 inch Creatology “Modern Girls” doll available at Michael’s Craft Stores.
