Hartshorne Hat
Impress everyone you see this winter with your own Hartshorne Hat! Its deceptively simple row repeats make for a great dive into fair isle crochet colorwork with an absolutely stunning and seemingly elaborate design!
Construction:
This hat is constructed bottom up. First, the ribbed brim is made in turned rows. The first and last rows are seamed to form a ring, and the body is worked in continuous, unturned rounds. After reaching the desired height, there are decrease rows and the top of the hat is cinched closed.
Sizing:
The hat is written for the sizes: kid/adult small (adult medium, adult large, adult extra large)
Head Circumference: 18-20” (20-22”, 22-23”, 23-24”)
Hat Circumference: 20” (22”, 23”, 24”)
Hat Height (with brim folded in half): 8.75” (9”, 9”, 9”)

Suggested Yarn:
Light Worsted Weight Yarn (4) - MC: The Frosted Stitch Winter Worsted (100% Superwash Merino) in “Eucalyptus” (218 yds/100g); CC: The Frosted Stitch Winter Worsted (100% Superwash Merino) in “Raise A Glass” (218 yds/100g).
You can use any light worsted weight yarn with similar yds/g with which you can meet gauge.

Gauge:
16 sts by 20 rows of csc = 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) blocked
