Harvest Cardigan
The cardigan is worked from the bottom up. The sleeves are worked first, then they are left on the spare yarn and when the body is done all 3 pieces are joined together. Body is worked with the shawl, next is the raglan shaping followed by shaping of the shawl.
Sizes: 0-3 (3-6) 6-9 (9-12) 12-18 (18-24) months
Kid’s body measurements: Chest circumference 44 (46) 48 (50) 52 (54) cm / 17.3 (18.1) 18.9 (19.6) 20.4 (21.2)“, Full length 25 (28) 29 (30) 32 (34) cm / 9.8 (11) 11.4 (11.8) 13 (13.4), Sleeve length (from underarm to cuff) 13 (15) 17 (19) 21 (23) cm / 5.1 (5.9) 6.7 (7.5) 8.2 (9)
Yarn: Any Dk yarn that has a tension of 22x30 for 10cm will do.
I used Sublime Extra Fine Merino Wool DK (100% Extra Fine Merino, 116m/50g)
Yarn amount 150g (150g) 200g (200g) 250g (250g)
Needles:
3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles 40cm (15”)
4 mm (US 6) circular needles 40cm (15”)
3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles 80-100cm (32-40”) for magic loop
4 mm (US 6) circular needles 80-100cm (32-40”) for magic loop or sizes to obtain the gauge
Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows = 10 cm in stockinette
25 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10cm (4” x 4”) on needle 4 mm (US6) in Pattern stitch
Additionally needed:
Buttons 5 (5) 6 (6) 7 (7) buttons 15mm (0.6”) or bigger
Stitch markers 8
