Harvest Moon
Exceptionally Unique Crochet Artistry
The MAGIC of Color & Crochet!
One of a kind crocheted works of art with a fresh boho influence:
The “Harvest Moon” Long Crochet Cardigan Pattern
With the “Autumn Sunset” Granny Square Crochet Block Pattern
Crochet Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
(Pattern has been written for those who are very new to crochet…those who understand what a crochet hook is, and now want to do something with it.)
A Personal Note from the Wand Weaver…
All my patterns are, and will continue to be, based on the concept:
If you can “do” the block, then you can “do” the coat, poncho, or blanket easily.
The stitches selected for the garment or afghan are the same ones learned while the blocks were being made.
I like that approach personally, as it removes all the worry about the “larger project” and “if I can do it”. Of course you can!
The stitches selected for the garment or afghan are the same ones learned while the blocks were being made!
Once the block is learned, then the world of opportunities really opens up and is possible.
This is precisely why I put so much effort into each block pattern.
Small in size, blocks by their very nature involve repetition: THAT’s where you learn the stitch concepts the most rapidly.
Hardest part for most is the Center Circle…just: practice, practice, practice, and about several dozen centers in and you’ll have it. You’ll be dancing around the living room (like I did) because it really is possible to learn how to crochet!
Cardigan finished measurements:
Length from neck to hem……….. 36”
From nape of neck to sleeve cuff……………. 28”
Width across chest/waist/hips……………. 58”
Crochet Skill Level: Intermediate
Hook: G
Yarn: Hobby Lobby “I Love This Yarn”
(includes Color Guide for specific Hobby Lobby color names and lot #’s)
Swatch Gauge: 15 HDC and 10 Rows 4 inch square
Yarn Quantities:
This is a ScrapBuster design of mine, so I pulled from all my Autum/Fall colored partial skeins and leftover yarn balls….
Hence, yarn quantities are an estimate only:
• Partial skeins for the secondary colors
• 3 skeins of Taupe (in between the fpdc rows, and creates a shadow effect)
• 6 skeins of chocolate brown
• 6 skeins of copper/fall colors variegation
• 3 skeins of cranberry/grenadine/cherry
My ponchos run 15 skeins of Hobby Lobby ILTY,
my campfire coats run around 8-10, depending on the fullness.
