An easy-to-knit slouchy, twisted-rib beanie with added pompom!

This simple, quick knit is designed to fit an adult head circumference of 22”, with suggestions for sizing adjustments provided. Any DK yarn would suit the pattern, though a plain or semi-solid shade would work best to enhance the twisted-rib pattern.

You will need enough yarn (perhaps in a contrast colour to the beanie) to make a nice, punchy pompom: tutorials are available online, or you can splash out on a pompom maker. And a pompom is mandatory: you’ll need it to weigh the end of the beanie down in true seven-dwarfs style!

Errata, 22.8.13: please note that I made a mistake on the gauge: it should read 29 sts and 30 rows in 2x2 rib to 4” (10cm), not 22 sts as previously stated. Please annotate your copy if you’ve already downloaded it; the pdf has now been corrected.
