This doily is worked in 40 rounds features a 12 pointed pin-wheel whirl made of increasing dc and ch1, increasing up to 15 blocks and decreasing down to 2.
Daisy Mercerized Thread, Art 65, size 20 white -- glass beads - choice color -- one ounce, beads as advertised in this book. Doily measures 19 inches.
This editor does not see any advertising for beads in this book. Also, EH usually identifies how many skeins. This pattern does not however, 1 skein should be adequate.

Recommended edit to Round 31 and beginning Round 32
RND 31 -- replace the last ch 5 with a trtr crochet (yo 4 times and finish off) 2 sc in trtr, ch 7
RND 32 -- this eliminates the slst over ch 1 sps, and over 3 of 5 ch which can look messy.
Round 33 -- string beads on you ball of thread, about a yard of beacs, turn wrong side of doily facing you, tie into 3rd sc from right toward left of any sc group, ch 1, sc same place as slst, pull up one bead (now make 2 sc in nx 2 of pr, pull of a bead).
Starch light, pin in perfect circle to dry - no ironing needed.
Called Napperon Tourniquet in 1000 Mailles, shown without beads and using size 30 thread, 1.00 mm hook.
