I am not a huge fan of slouchy hats but this stitch seemed to lend itself particularly well to a slouchy pattern and I know a lot of people love them.

A couple of notes. This is NOT a mindless knitting project. Although the pattern is not hard at all (you knit into the stitch below every other round like in Brioche), you MUST keep track of where you are or the pattern will not work. It is also very difficult to go back to fix a mistake so rescue rows are strongly recommended.
