Winter in the Alps (dutch below/ nederlands hieronder)

I hope everyone has one, a friendly and caring neighbour. Ours is perfect, he is always ready to lend a hand if you need one. For us he always watches the house when we go on holiday, takes the post from the box, feeds the cats and the chickens and waters the plants inside and out. One’s a year he goes on holiday himself, his eyes start to shine if he talks about it. A winter sports holiday with the wife and kids in Austria. He always enjoys it immensely. In the cold weather he always wears a hat when he takes the dog out. That’s why this is a good present for his 50th birthday, now he can enjoy the winter holiday the whole year round. The pattern is inspired on a small Winter sports town in the Austrian Alps. The model of the hat is a Fishermans kep from Fair Isle with the double rim l, exept not with the traditional geometric patterns. The closing is with a beautiful snow star on top and the traditional tassel of course.

NECESSITIES:

Approximately 100 grams of wool for knitting needle 3 mm. Minimal divided into 2 colours but it is nicer to use 3 colours, just like the original. It is also possible to use scraps of wool, the hat itself weighs about 80 grams. I have used Holst supersoft wool for this from Denmark. This wool is sold per 10 grams or in balls of 50 grams. The length for this wool is about 287 meters for 50 grams.
60 grams dark blue Indigo (066)
30 grams wit Bleached White (061)
10 grams light blue Opal (062)
1 circular needle size 2.75 or 3 mm with length 40 cm
1 crochet needle size 3 mm
2 rectangular pieces of cardboard to make the tassel
Wool needle or darning needle to tie off the threads and sharp scissors
Eucalan or another wool detergent to clean your knitting and stretched to dry.

Gauge: 26 stitches and 36 rows are 10 x10 cm

MUTS WINTER IN DE ALPEN

Ik gun er eentje aan iedereen, zo’n buurman die altijd voor iedereen klaar staat. Hier past hij altijd bij elke vakantie op het huis, haalt de post uit de bus, geeft de poezen en kippen te eten en de plantjes binnen en buiten water. Eén keer per jaar gaat hij zelf op vakantie, en zijn ogen beginnen te stralen als hij het er over heeft. De wintersport met vrouw en kinderen in Oostenrijk. Hij geniet elk jaar met volle teugen van! In de koude periode van het jaar draagt hij altijd een muts als hij de hond uitlaat. Alleen al daarom is deze muts het cadeau voor zijn 50e verjaardag, zo kan hij het hele jaar een klein beetje van de wintersport genieten. Het patroon is geinspireerd op een klein wintersportdorpje in de Oostenrijkse Alpen. Het model is de Fair Isle Fishermens Kep compleet met dubbele rand alleen zonder de geometrische patronen. Op de sluiting van de muts een prachtige sneeuw ster en het traditionele kwastje.

BENODIGDHEDEN:

Circa 100 gram wol voor breinaald 3 mm. Minimaal verdeeld in 2 kleuren, maar het is het leukste om net als het origineel 3 kleuren te gebruiken. Het kan ook zeker met restjes want de muts zelf weegt maar 80 gram. Ik heb Holst supersoft wol gebruikt, deze wol kun je per 10 gram van de rol kopen. De looplengte van deze wol is 287 meter per 50 gram.

1 rondbreinaald maat 2.75 of 3 met minimale lengte 40 cm.
Een haaknaald 3 mm
2 rechthoekige stukjes karton voor het kwastje
Wolnaald of stopnaald om de draden af te hechten en scherpe schaar
Eucalan of een ander wolwasmiddel om je breiwerk te reinigen en opgespannen te kunnen laten drogen.
