Confession - I find the crown fiddly when knitting hats in the round!
I wrote this pattern because I wanted a beanie that was knitted flat and seamed. Using mattress stitch creates a near invisible seam.

The plait/braid tapers as it is worked near the top of the hat which avoids bulk and helps it sit well.

FINISHED SIZE
Approx. 48cm (19”) around the brim and 25cm (10”) high
